We have three Practice Nurses who are trained to do an extensive number of procedures and tests. They work alongside the doctors, assist in minor surgery procedures, run chronic condition clinics such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease and offer a wide range of other services besides. We have a Health Care Assistant who assists the Practice clinical team in the care of patients. She also conducts New Patient Health Checks and advises on preventative care, screening and patient education in accordance with agreed practice protocols.
We have several district nurses attached to our practice. They are based at Sydenham Green Health Centre and can be contacted on 020 3049 3000. They provide nursing services to housebound patients. Patients can be referred to a district nurse by their GPs and Practice Nurses at the Practice or by the
hospital discharge planning team.
The Health Visitors provide advice and support to parents of new babies and children under five. They run well baby clinics at the practice on Thursdays from 13:30pm-3:30pm the new Baby Clinic Area. The clinic is for well pre-school children only and provides an opportunity to discuss your child’s development. If your child is unwell you should bring him/her to normal surgery. If you want to weigh your baby or see the Health Visitors no appointment is necessary.
The Practice is linked to the community Midwives from University Hospital Lewisham. They attend the practice on Thursday mornings for antenatal clinics and can be contacted on 020 83333000 via the Delivery Suite – University Hospital Lewisham.
The Practice Manager is responsible for the overall running of the Practice and is pleased to help with any administrative or non-medical aspects of your health and treatment. She is also available, by appointment, to discuss any suggestions, which may improve our service to you
The Practice Administrator deals with the Practice’s administration and support services necessary to run the Practice.
Reception and Admin Staff
All our staff are here to help you and strive to do so.
Receptionists work on the front line and are your link with the rest of the practice. They may need to ask for your medical details in order to work effectively. All information given to them is treated in confidence and they are bound by the same codes of conduct as Doctors and Nurses. The more information you are able to give to the receptionists the better they will be able to assist you. The reception desk and telephone are always extremely busy. Please make allowances if you can not be attended to immediately.
The Notes Summariser scans and summarises all new records on to the Practice’s computer system
