Enhanced Access Service

 

If you or a member of your family need medical advice or treatment and/or need to see a GP outside of normal GP practice hours, you may be offered an appointment as part of our Enhanced Access Service.

What is Enhanced Access?

The Enhanced Access Service provides patients with additional appointments outside of normal GP opening hours.

These are known as enhanced access appointments and are available:

  • Monday to Friday: 6.30pm to 8pm
  • Saturday: 9am to 5pm

Please note that this is not a walk-in service.

 

Will I be seen at my own GP practice?

Appointments are offered from your own practice within the below days and times:

Monday - Wells Park Practice – SE26 6JQ

  • 7am to 8am GP Face to face appointments and Phlebotomy (blood clinic)
  • 6.30pm to 8pm Face to face and telephone appointments with various clinicians e.g. GP/ Nurse/ Health Care Assistants

Tuesday - Woolstone Medical Centre – SE23 2SG

  • 6.30pm to 8pm Face to face and telephone appointments with various clinicians e.g. GP/ Nurse/ Health Care Assistants

Wednesday - Sydenham Green Group Practice – SE26 4TH

  • 6.30pm to 8pm Face to face and telephone appointments with various clinicians e.g. GP/ Nurse/ Health Care Assistants

Thursday - Vale Medical Centre – SE23 2JF

  • 6.30pm to 8pm Face to face and telephone appointments with various clinicians e.g. GP/ Nurse/ Health Care Assistants

Friday

  • 6.30pm to 8pm Remote service via telephone

Saturdays

  • 9am to 1pm Face to face and telephone appointments with various clinicians e.g. GP/ Nurse/ Health Care Assistants
  • 1pm to 5pm Remote service via telephone

Appointments are available every Saturday. Your practice will offer you a Saturday appointment on the scheduled days they are open.

 

Who can use Enhanced Access Appointments??

The appointments are available to patients who are:

  • Registered with a GP practice within Aplos Primary Care Network (PCN) About Us – Aplos Health PCN
  • Your appointment request has been assessed and triaged by your own GP practice and subsequently booked you an enhanced access appointment. 
  • Routine appointments as identified by your GP.
  • Some of our sites also offer appointments for some of the following services:  
  • Routine GP appointments
  • Urgent GP appointments
  • Routine Nursing appointments e.g. injections, wound dressings
  • NHS Healthchecks
  • Diabetic Foot Checks
  • Child Immunisations
  • Phlebotomy / bloods
  • Cervical Screening /Smear Tests
  • Contraception advice and Implant /Coil Fitting
  • Medication review
 

Will I be seen face to face?

Face to face appointments are available, although you may also be offered a telephone consultation.

 

Can I ask for an enhanced access appointment?

If you are unable to get an immediate appointment at your GP practice, an enhanced access appointment should be offered to you. If this is not offered, please ask the receptionist.

 

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please contact your practice to cancel or rearrange your appointment.
