Patient Survey

The national patient survey is still ongoing. If you have received an invitation, please fill out the questionnaire and have your say so we can deliver the best possible service to patients.

We are also carrying out our own in-house survey which we are conducting by text. If you have received a text, please complete this as fully as you can. We remain grateful for your support and constructive feedback.

clinical research

We Are Research Active

All NHS organisations are expected to support health and care research. Clinical research is vital as it supports improvement in treatments thus providing patients with the best care. We may contact you about taking part in a study.

Many studies simply want to know more about how you cope with a particular problem whilst others are looking for patients with a particular diagnosis to help assess the effectiveness of a different treatment.

We regularly review your records to check whether you are suitable for a research or study. You will then be contacted and asked if you are interested. You do not have to take part in any research study and you are free to choose whether or not to get involved. If you do not wish to be contacted about research opportunities, please contact us to let us know.

HIV Testing Week

  • Do you know your HIV status?

  • If you do not have a nominated pharmacy, you can use a prescription bar code to collect your medicine from any pharmacy without the need to collect a paper prescription.

This functionality is being rolled out gradually and will be available to all patients in England.

For help and support, visit prescriptions in the NHS App or visit the website Digital prescriptions in the NHS App - NHS Digital

MANAGING PRESCRIPTIONS

NHS Jewish BRCA Testing Programme

NHS England has launched a programme to offer genetic testing for BRCA mutations to men and women over 18 years old, with Jewish ancestry (at least one Jewish grandparent) in England.

The aim is to identify more people with cancer predisposing genes and enroll them into appropriate surveillance and treatment pathways. Having a BRCA mutation increases your risk of developing several cancers, in particular for women, breast and ovarian cancer. The programme is important because people with Jewish ancestry have a 1 in 40 risk of carrying a BRCA mutation compared to the general population risk of 1 in 250.

If you are interested in participating in the programme, please call the genetic counselling hotline directly to order a test on 020 3437 6001 (the hotline is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with extended hours to 7pm on Wednesdays).
